About the Buildathon
Datasphir Buildathon is a structured Digital Talent Development Initiative that brings together undergraduate students from across Nigeria to collaboratively design and build practical technology solutions that address real-world challenges. This edition focuses on solving a clearly defined challenge within Nigeria’s education sector, while strengthening participants’ applied technical capability and workforce readiness.
Designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world execution, the programme enables participants to work in cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and product leads to plan, build, and ship solutions using modern product practices. Through guided mentorship and industry-aligned processes, participants develop practical skills, professional discipline, and demonstrable portfolios positioning them as emerging digital talent ready for early-career opportunities.

The Buildathon is open to all students enrolled in recognised Nigerian tertiary institutions. Participants work in pre-formed teams with a maximum of 5 members to build solutions using modern product practices and collaborative workflows.
This programme focuses on building real, usable solutions with industry-standard workflows, professional mentorship, and structured learning. Participants gain practical ICT skills, work on a defined project, and develop portfolio-ready work with verified certificates and endorsements.
